Hello friends!
We're having another hydrogel mask in focus. In this post, the #MaskOfTheWeek review will be about the After Shower Look Hydrogel Mask from the brand, Faith in Face.

Claims, Functions, and Key Ingredients:
"You do not need a shower every hour to get the after shower look. Just have faith in face after shower and look pure, gorgeous and sexy!"
Key ingredients in this face mask include Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium PCA, and Camellia Japonica Seed Oil which focus providing the skin instant hydration, infused moisture, as well as blocking dehydration.
Sodium Hyaluronate is a popular ingredient in other skincare products which include anti-aging creams, moisturizers, facial cleansers, eye creams, and the like. This is because it is said to not leave a 'greasy feel' and not irritate the skin while holding onto water which provides a better support in locking in that additional moisture. Relatively, Sodium PCA also has various benefits which include anti-aging, protecting skin cells, and reducing skin inflammation. Camellia Japonica Seed Oil (or otherwise referred to as, Tsubaki Oil) also has moisturizing and anti-aging properties which claims to help improve your complexion while being safe to use for oily and acne-prone skin to aid in the appearance of acne scars.
In other words, it claims to be a very moisturizing mask to the point that your skin would look and feel refreshed like you just came out of the shower, even with just wearing this face mask.💆

Faith in Face After Shower Look Hydrogel Mask (Front and back of packaging) |
Instructions and Ingredients list:
Where I was able to purchase: SM Store Beauty Section
Price: Php 169.00
First Impressions:
Again, my usual comment for First Impressions on this brand is that the packaging is cute (which I'm definitely up for)! A lot of times, I would get drawn to packaging that isn't really common or the same with a lot of products (of the same kind) on the market. If it's eye-catching, I'd probably think about trying it. For the interest factor, I was curious about how it would give me an 'After Shower Look' even just by wearing this mask. After trying a previous hydrogel mask from Faith in Face, I was really looking forward to how it would turn out this time; whether this would be a better experience or otherwise (really hoping for the former, though).
Product Review:
Similar to the previously reviewed hydrogel mask, this one comes in two parts which include the upper half and lower half with their respective protective films for easy unfolding. However, it was sort of difficult to unfold when I was trying to hold it and adjust it on my face. The factor of the material which was slippery and sticky added to that as well (not gonna lie, I might have even applied the opposite side of the upper half on my face for majority of the time lol).
Sadly, this mask didn't fit the sides of my face (which I'm already starting to expect that the next hydrogel mask I will be reviewing from the same brand might have the same fit 😔). As for the adherence to the skin, it did well at first, the upper half doing a better job than the lower half. Smoothing out the mask helped it to adhere better. However, the lower part started sliding off my face even before reaching half the recommended time for usage (which might usually be the case for a couple hydrogel masks). For the smell, I would say that I'm not quite a fan of it. I'm not able to describe it, but it's not really something I wanted to last long while wearing a mask to relax in. There also wasn't a lot of essence, making it not as hydrating as I expected it to be. But on the brighter side, the mask was definitely cooling though. I'm even going to point out that in comparison to the previously reviewed hydrogel mask, this one's more cooling.
As time passed while wearing the mask, bubbles started to show underneath the mask which probably signaled it to start drying. So, yeah, it felt slightly drier than the previous hydrogel mask. I'm not sure if maybe it's just me, but the mask felt more drying than its claims which were to hydrate the skin. I need to hear out other people who've already tried this mask to see if they observed other effects (I'm curious, so let me know in the comments below or in my Instagram post if you've already tried this mask). And back to the mask's smell, well, the longer it was on my face, the longer the smell lingered which was not for me. Despite that, I didn't get to observe stinging and itchiness while wearing this one.
After using this, it still gave the usual 'after-mask' glow which can be pretty much observed right after wearing almost every face mask. It showed a refreshing, bouncy glow and made my skin supple after use. For the next day, I observed brighter skin, but a not-so-dewy glow in comparison to the previous night (was that a bit confusing?). Aside from it, I didn't get to see any huge after effects. My face didn't feel oily that morning, but that would probably be because of my current skincare routine and not mainly from wearing the mask.
Pros:
→ Cute design/packaging
→ Cooling to the skin
→ No stinging and itchiness observed
Cons:
→ Difficult to apply on the face
→ Not a good fit on my face; especially the sides (again 😔)
→ Not a fan of the smell
→ The lower half didn't adhere well to the face for long
→ Felt more drying to the skin than hydrating
→ Was a bit too pricey for the usage and effects observed after

Go-Buy or No-Buy?
I guess it's still a good mask, considering the cooling effect from the hydrogel material as well as providing the usual 'after mask' glow, but I was slightly disappointed in terms of the hydrating factor which was part of the main claims that the mask had. Another thing would be the fit of the mask which was (again) not a perfect one at the sides as well as the constant sliding down of the lower half of the mask from my face (which increased as time passed). I also wasn't a big fan of the smell from the moment I opened the packaging to when I applied the mask and had it stay on my face. Similar to the verdict for the Light Effect Hydrogel Mask, this is going to be a No-Buy for me. I would still recommend this for those who want a moisturizing and cooling mask and would want to try this variant though. Once again, it might just have been from my experience.😊
That's all for this mask review. Thank you for reading!
'Til the next post,
