WRINKLE CORRECTING SERUM MASK.

Claims and Key Ingredients:

"BOOSTS SKIN'S RENEWAL POWER"

Key ingredients as presented on the packaging are Green Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid, and Avocado Extract.

Green Retinol is an ingredient which is said to help tackle on anti-aging signs including wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and dryness. Additionally, it aids in handling your clogged pores and preventing your skin from breakouts.

Hyaluronic Acid (or HA) is a key ingredient which can also be found in the Firming Serum Mask, which is another variant of serum mask from Pond's. A benefit of having this in skincare products is that is aids in managing or preventing signs of aging through making skin supple, increasing skin moisture, and fighting against wrinkles and fine lines.

If you love Avocado (as in the fruit), well, it might be interesting to also know what Avocado Extract in skincare can do to your skin. Avocado Extract also gives a boost in moisture levels as well as helps protect the skin from sun damage, further slowing signs of aging. It supports the healthy production of new collagen which makes the skin feel and look younger and softer. Those with itchy, dry, and sensitive skin will also love skincare products with Avocado Extract since it provides a gentle and non-irritating relief to the skin.

Product Review:

Okay, now the first thing I noticed is that this mask smells similar to the Firming Serum Mask which was somewhat floral. It didn't bother me because it wasn't too strong of a scent. Similar to the previous mask and as per claim, this one also has a lot of serum packed in. And I mean dripping serum (which you can see in the photo where I'm holding up the mask). Masks from this product line are quite thin which is a 50-50 for me when I do sheet masking (i think i've even mentioned this in another previous post). This is because thin sheet masks tend to adhere to the face better, but also thin sheet masks are quite a challenge when it comes to unfolding and adjusting it on the face. For this one, I still had to be careful at the unfolding part (which was a blooper because i even applied the mask backwards πŸ™ˆ). The upper side (forehead area) was also quite difficult to unfold, so when I already had it on I didn't really bother adjusting the unfolded part anymore πŸ˜…. Another point again was on the fit at the sides of the face (which i know you can fix by trimming the excess but it was already kinda late at night and it would take time). On a positive note, the mask adhered well to the skin and gave a skin-hugging fit.

After using it, my skin felt a teeny bit sticky which I didn't observe in the previous mask. There also weren't much after effects observed, aside from the usual 'after-mask glow'.

Pros:
→ Has a lot of serum in the mask and in the pack
→ Adhered well to the face
→ Didn't sting or irritate the skin

Cons:
→ Mask's fit didn't match with the sides of my face
→ Somewhat difficult to unfold (maybe because of sheet mask material?)
→ Not much after effects

Go-Buy or No-Buy?
This is going to be a No-Buy for me. Despite the serum amount as per claim on the packaging, I'm still a bit sad with the issue on the mask's fit. I know I could've made arrangements with it to fit my face better, but honestly, it takes a few minutes of your time just by making initial adjustments. One of the things I look forward to when sheet masking is when I get to relax a bit after putting the sheet on my face. So, if it still needs that extra step, I might not be much of a fan. (just might be my round frame for a face but) There are other few masks which don't make my face feel uncomfortable when donning them on and still provide the same (or even better) effects to the skin. Well, that's just me, and you know YMMV. 😊✌

Now, on to the next and last mask from this set.

SKIN BRIGHTENING SERUM MASK.

Claim and Key Ingredients:

"BOOSTS SKIN'S GLOW FROM WITHIN"

Key ingredients in this mask as written on the packaging include Niacinamide, Vitamin E, and Sea Daffodil.

Niacinamide might be a common term to hear among those of you who interested in products which endorse lightening your skin tone and repairing dull-looking skin. Well, that is because this ingredient does work to improve your skin's appearance especially on issues like enlarged pores, wrinkles, (and as mentioned) uneven skin tone, and dullness. This is also said to be a versatile ingredient since it can match with any skin concern or skin type. Having products with Niacinamide in your skincare routine gives a lift to other products in your lineup which may contain other power ingredients which help in restoring your skin condition and adding more supply of nutrients to provide you with healthy-looking skin.

Vitamin E in skincare is good for the skin since it is an antioxidant which helps in fighting skin inflammation, boosting that SPF protection (together with your sunscreen ofc!), and hydrating your skin. Another thing as to why it complements this variant of serum mask is that Vitamin E aids in reducing the appearance of scars and marks.

This is my first time encountering Sea Daffodil as an ingredient, but this one is said to help reduce the appearance as well as the formation of dark spots, which makes it definitely work well together with Vitamin E. πŸ˜πŸ‘ Additionally, Sea Daffodil is also claimed to be great for those with combination skin since it targets to cleanse and treat areas in your skin which are oily and dry while adding in that additional boost of moisture. (Interesting, right? As I also have combination skin, I'm looking forward to this mask!)

Product Review:
I'm now mostly convinced that it's a thing with the three masks that they all have a floral smell. 🌺 And it's fine because I also mentioned that it's not a very strong one which is tolerable during the whole duration of having the mask on. It was also nice because this around, I didn't find it hard to unfold the mask and this variant is also still true to promised serum amount. One more point I'm happy about is that the fit is different than two previous masks. It had a better fit with lesser excess at the sides which means it covered all the sides of my face well (the mouth and eyes area is too wide though, but I guess it's not much of a big issue for me haha). Similar to the previous ones, this mask also adhered to the skin well and didn't budge. The material also smoothed out on face well to have it adhere better.

However, this is where I found things to get a bit shaky. πŸ˜” After a few moments in the application, I felt a bit of stinging around the mouth area while areas near the sides of the nose and mouth are felt somewhat itchy a few minutes after. I was having second thoughts on whether to take the mask off even though it didn't reach 15 minutes yet, but I tried to keep it on to see how it would go afterward. The itchiness then lessened towards the end of wearing the sheet.

After using, I didn't notice much after effect glow on this variant, but I felt like I had to watch over how my face would react the next day to know if something's up or whether this mask matched my skin or not. My worry was more on the mouth and nose area. πŸ™Š I was relieved to see that there were no crazy breakouts the next day. There was just nothing much going on with how my face felt from the mask.

Pros:
→ Generous serum amount in mask and packet
→ Adhered well to the face
→ Better fit to the face, compared to two previous masks

Cons:
→ Irritated my skin
→ Felt stinging and itchiness around nose and mouth area
→ Not much visible after effects

Go-Buy or No-Buy?
Even though it made me worry about my skin condition the next day, I still gave it a 3-gem rating because the sheet mask is still an okay product in terms of serum amount, scent (maybe), adherence, and fit. Other sheet mask users might feel at home with this variant. Unfortunately, this third one is also a No-Buy. Among the three, I think I might not be much a fan of this variant. I was looking forward to this the most since it had key ingredients which seemed to match my combination skin type, so I was a bit disappointed with how it reacted with my skin. There might be a different ingredient in it that my face didn't feel friendly with. I was really curious about these masks, but I guess these ones just didn't work for me. Despite having the pros, the bigger goal in it for me at the end of the day would still be how my skin receives the product and reacts with it even after a certain period of time.

Those are my reviews for the last two serum masks from Pond's.
All in all, it felt somewhat 'sayang' for me to not have found these serum masks to fit what I would usually look for in sheet masks. This was an interesting concept and I was excited to see Pond's have their go at the sheet mask market. Their key ingredients seemed neat, too. If I were still to choose which among these masks performed better among the others, I might even pick the Firming Serum Mask (and I'd just have to snip off the sides). Anyway, some might find these to work for them; but, these ones just weren't for me. πŸ˜…✋

If you've tried these masks, how did they work for you? Let me know in the comments below!
