Hello there!
I'm back on track with another The Face Shop sheet mask for another of this week's #MaskOfTheWeek. This time, I'm trying the BHA Smoothing Face Mask from their sheet mask line called, 'The Solution'.
These sheet masks are formulated with various kinds of ingredients that help and become the 'right solution for your skin concern'. There are 10 different options to address the different skin concerns which include:
π Brightening (with Pearl) π Pore Care (with Tannins)
π Firming (with Collagen) π Moisturizing (with Ceramide)
π Hydrating (with Hyaluronic Acid) π Radiance (with Vitamin C)
π Nourishing (with Propolis) π Soothing (with Madecassocide)
π Smoothing (with BHA/Beta Hydroxy Acid) π Wrinkle Care (with Peptide)

Aside from the various ingredients which target your skin concerns, another boosting factor from these sheet masks are that they are claimed to be lightweight and fit your face well, making the serum it's soaked in to be absorbed well by the skin. The Solution sheet masks provide this light and smooth sheet mask adherence with the same functions said to be as similar to that of oxygen.
According to the back of the packaging,
"The light-as-air sheet is semi-transparent and only 0.21mm thin, adhering to skin and facial features softly and snugly."
Keep scrolling to know more deets about one of the sheet masks I've tried from The Solution by The Face Shop (which is the BHA Smoothing Face Mask variant).
Now, let's get to reviewing this sheet mask! π

Product Review:
To tell you a bit of a backstory, I really wasn't planning to get any mask from The Solution sheet mask line. I only got around seeing the Real Nature sheet masks (that i'm also about to try and review soon btw woot woot) every time I passed by any The Face Shop branch. But here's the thing, the packaging caught my attention. I found it interesting plus cute. On the front, it has its own test tube vial with a different color for every key ingredient and a mini chemical structure for the corresponding ingredient as well at the bottom left side. Different from labels of other skincare products which are usually claimed to be backed with scientific findings for featuring a certain ingredient, these sheet mask labels didn't seem that intimidating to grab off a shelf since they seem to appear like an approachable friend whom you can ask what's a good solution for your skin concern.
The mask material was truly thin, as per description behind the packaging, but not too thin to be tacky and difficult to handle. There's also a protective sheet between the mask which could help as a guide in applying. It did need a bit of adjustment, but it was okay and not personally time-consuming. It also felt nice to the skin as the material wasn't rough. For the scent, it seemed a bit 'chemical-like' at first but faded out later. It wasn't really strong and also wasn't bothering.

This fitted well on all sides, even for the holes on the eye, nose, and mouth area and also adhered really well because of its thin material. I also liked how it can easily be smoothed well on your face. The essence seemed to be in the middle of a gel-like and watery-like consistency for me which wasn't any problem. There was quite the excess amount of it in the packet which could still be applied on the neck, and even on the knees and elbows.
I found the sheet mask okay to use. There weren't any stinging, itchiness, or other irritations observed. After wearing it, I observed that it just gave an after-mask glow, no unusual differences. And one thing is, the next day, my face appeared a bit oilier than usual mornings. BUT, when I washed my face with water, I noticed that it smoothed a few recent bumps I was keeping my eyes on and even calmed some breakouts (
Pros:
→ interesting and eye-catching packaging
→ thin sheet mask material, as claimed on label
→ wasn't tacky nor difficult to handle
→ fit well and adhered well
→ with an excess amount of essence to apply on neck, elbows, and knees
→ helped smoothen recent bumps and calm some breakouts after rinsing the next morning
Cons:
→ a bit of mild chemical-like scent (which faded after some time)
→ face appeared oilier than usual the next morning
→ thin sheet mask material, as claimed on label
→ wasn't tacky nor difficult to handle
→ fit well and adhered well

Go-Buy or No-Buy?
I'm definitely thinking of this as a Go-Buy. I'm even getting more excited to try the other variants from this sheet mask line. It has such an interesting concept and for a first try sheet mask, it didn't disappoint. I was happy by the results, especially what I observed the next day after use. There also weren't any major concerns, except for the scent (which can be handled after a few minutes) and the excessive oiliness the next morning (which appeared to be better after rinsing the face with water). It had a lot of good points, so I'm more excited for the next one and even looking forward to getting my hands on the other interesting variants. ππ
That's it for my review of the BHA Smoothing Face Mask by The Face Shop's The Solution.
